Type: Grip Ring Stem, 11mm diameter
Important: Please measure your existing wheels stem size and check existing wheel type before purchase. No refund for wrong purchases. Use at least 2 measuring methods to confirm your measurement. Pick 1 measuring method (1a or 1b) from Grp 1 and confirm with 1 more measuring method (2a or 2b) from Grp 2.
1a. Using a Caliper
If you have a caliper, measure the Stem in the middle (i.e just below the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area) using your caliper. Ensure caliper jaws sit completely below the the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area. If it measures 11mm + or – you have a 11mm diameter.
1b. Measure with ruler
Place the ruler perpendicular to the length of the stem at the middle (i.e just below the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area). Most casters that have a grip ring stem have 11mm stem diameter. If the stem of your caster is 11mm diameter it will measure slightly less than the 12.5mm mark on the ruler. Please take note and adjust for parallax error when using this method.
2a. Find circumference with a piece of paper.
Use a piece of paper about 50mm long. Start to wrap the paper around the stem in the middle (i.e just below the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area). Wrap the paper so that it overlaps the beginning edge of itself. Where the paper intersects the beginning edge, make a mark with a pencil or pen. Try to make this mark as accurately as possible. Now take the paper off and measure the paper length from the beginning edge to the mark that you made.
Using the formula d = circumference / Pi ( 3.1416 ). so,
If you measured 36mm of paper length- You need 11mm Diameter Stems.
2b. Using an Adjustable Wrench
Take the wrench and tighten it gently across the middle of the stem (i.e just below the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area). Ensure jaws of wrench sit completely below the the Grip Ring and Grip Ring area- we want only the diameter of the stem. Once you have the wrench tightened to a nice grip of the middle of he stem, use your ruler to measure the gap between the jaw (i.e. the inside of the jaw). Measure from inside to inside of the jaws, to get the diameter. If it measures 11mm + or – you have a 11mm diameter.
